Obituary

Heaven had a big family reunion this week when Alan Lee Dixon joined the many relatives who have passed before him on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 79.

Alan was born on September 25, 1946, in Rupert, Idaho, to Lamar and Anna Dixon. He spent his early years in the Rupert area with his five brothers and sisters before his family relocated to Boise, Idaho. At the age of 19, in 1965, Alan was called to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in McAllen, Texas.

During his mission, Alan was introduced to Gloria and the Escobedo family. After returning home, he and Gloria began corresponding, and their friendship blossomed through heartfelt letters into a lasting love. They were married on August 22, 1969, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Alan and Gloria later moved to Provo, Utah, where he attended Brigham Young University and earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He went on to work for Orem City as a Data Processing Manager, where he built a successful career and formed lifelong friendships before retiring.

Together, Alan and Gloria created a loving and enduring family. They were blessed with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who brought them immense pride and joy. Alan will be remembered for his deep love of family, often opening his home for celebrations, birthdays, and family gatherings. His warmth, kindness, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alan faithfully served throughout his life. After raising their children, he and Gloria served a second mission together in San Francisco, California, from 2001 to 2003, where they also taught English to others. He later served a five-year humanitarian mission. Alan continued his service by sharing uplifting messages online, touching lives around the world and helping others come unto Christ. Several individuals he connected with were eventually baptized.

Alan also had a deep passion for family history. Using his computer skills, he spent countless hours researching genealogy and submitting tens of thousands of names for temple work, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved daughter, Julie Falo; his parents, Anna and Lamar Dixon; and several dear siblings.

Alan is survived by his eternal companion, Gloria E. Dixon; his son, Michael Dixon; his grandchildren Michael Jr., Melanie, Hunter, and Nicole; and his great-grandchildren, Atalie and Kehdius. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Pati Kulesa Falo, and grandchildren Mahonri and Kailia, along with many cherished members of the Dixon and Escobedo families who will honor and remember his remarkable life.Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Orchard Stake Center, located at 810 East 600 North in Orem, Utah, on April 2, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on April 3 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Funeral services will be held on April 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Provo, Utah. This will be a time to gather, reminisce, and bid a final farewell to a man whose life touched so many and whose presence will be deeply missed.
