Aliece brought sunshine into the lives of everyone who knew her.
Lola Aliece Harms Magnusson, 73, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, in Lehi, Utah. With her characteristic cheerfulness and bright smile, Aliece brought sunshine into the lives of everyone who knew her.
She and her twin brother were born on January 30, 1953, the oldest of Callis R and Melna Marlene Lowry Harms’s four children. She graduated from Orem High School in 1971 and served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles, California, from 1974 to 1975. There, a local bishop’s family was so taken with her, they sent her home with a cake to deliver to their son at BYU. Their match-making worked! She was nearly finished with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at BYU when she was sealed to David Magnusson in the Provo Utah Temple on June 25, 1976. They were married 48 years before he passed away in 2024. She loved him and looked forward to their reunion.
Aliece devoted her whole life to her family. She was the proud mother of five children: Matthew, Julina (Enrique), Andrew (Michelle), Jennifer (Zane), and Angela (Nick). She chose to be a stay-at-home mom, was actively involved in her children’s lives, and remained a reliable and comforting place for them to turn to in adulthood. She adored her six grandchildren and three granddogs, and they loved her warmth and hugs! She was also very interested in family history work and proudly shared stories of her ancestors.
Aliece had strong faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. She believed in miracles and encouraged others to seek answers to their problems through prayer. She and David were a great strength to their ward in Carpinteria, CA, where they raised their family. She was competent, faithful, and dedicated in numerous church assignments. Being good with children, she especially enjoyed working in the nursery and Primary. She sincerely ministered to many women and changed their lives. Those she served felt her love.
She believed in miracles and encouraged others to seek answers to their problems through prayer.
Aliece was unfailingly supportive of David in his many church callings, even though it meant she often had to care for their children by herself. When his two-decade battle with Parkinson’s disease changed their lives and their plans for the future, she moved forward with the same faith and determination to care for him and to manage their household as long as she could.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings Arthur (Delaine), Adele (Michael), and Adrienne (Troy), who faithfully watched over her, and many extended Lowry and Harms family members whom she loved. She made the world a better place, and she will be greatly missed!
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Aliece’s siblings, her hospice nurse and aide, and many others at Covington, Renew, and Aspen for the care and compassion they showed our mom.
