Obituary

Amber Nicole Urban, age 35, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Orem, Utah, surrounded by love.

Amber was born on January 22, 1991, at American Fork Hospital to her mother, Gina Marie Durant Hasson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ashley Marie Behunin Thomas.

She is survived by her beloved children, Aemilia Elizabeth Ashley Rose Urban and Liliann Autumn Rose Urban, who were the greatest joys of her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter, Avery Maria Rose Peterson, whom she placed into the care and adoption of Brita and Jeff Peterson—a decision that reflected Amber’s deep love and devotion as a mother.

Amber is also survived by her brothers, David Austin Behunin (Crystal Hart) and their children Perseus and Thalia, and Mark Ammon Hasson. She was deeply loved by Brita and Jeff Peterson and their children Landan, Taylor, Callen, Carter, and Avery, as well as Matt and Melissa Miller and their family: Madeline Miller Hullinger (Cooper Hullinger) and their children Rocky and Rome, Christopher Miller (Lelia Miller), Lily Miller, and Lincoln Miller. She is also survived by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who cherished her.

Amber worked in a floral department, where her love for plants and beauty naturally flourished. She had a gentle, creative soul and found joy in playing the piano, composing beautiful music, and expressing herself through art.

Those who knew Amber will never forget her kindness. She was one of the sweetest, most compassionate people you could ever meet—always seeing the best in others, even when life was incredibly hard. Though she faced many challenges, she carried herself with quiet strength and grace.

Amber bravely fought glioblastoma brain cancer, and even in her most difficult moments, she continued to show up with love. She created meaningful memories with her daughters, often pushing through pain with a smile, always thinking of others before herself.

Something she said often, “It is what it is,” reflected her resilience. She accepted life as it came, meeting it with courage, softness, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Above all, Amber loved being a mother. That love will continue to live on in her children and in the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
