Amy Fiene, 44, of Provo, UT, passed away after a long struggle with depression and mental illness. Amy was born in Henderson, NV, on Jan 22, 1978, to Marinus and Victoria (Cummings) Baadsgaard. After getting degrees in Mechanical Engineering at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and Stanford in Palo Alto, CA, she got a Juris Doctor degree at BYU Law School in Provo, Utah. At her passing, she was working as a Patent Lawyer.
Amy was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many youth and women's groups. She was loved by many in her local ward. She loved going to the beach in California where she had many friends. She recently returned from a trip to Hawaii with friends. She loved to go on walks, cooking, playing the piano, visiting neighbors and going on church activities.
Amy is survived by her two children, Jessica Taylor Fiene, and Lauren Kate Fiene, who live with their father, Jonathan Fiene, in Stuttgart, Germany. Amy is also survived by her father, Marinus Baadsgaard, mother, Victoria Baadsgaard, brother, Jeffrey Baadsgaard, and sister, Kristi Baadsgaard, who all live in Henderson, NV.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, 11:00 am in the Spring Creek Chapel, 1745 South State Street, Provo, UT. Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 pm or Saturday morning from 10:00-10:45 am both at the same church. Interment will be at the Palm Mortuary on Boulder Highway in Henderson, NV, at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 13. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com.
