Andrew Gordon
Johnson
August 18, 2005 – May 16, 2026
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Andrew Gordon Johnson, who passed away on May 16, 2026, in Manaus, Brazil, while faithfully serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was 20 years old.
Andrew was born on August 18, 2005, in West Jordan, Utah, to Mark Andrew Johnson and Callie Rae Stark Johnson. From an early age, Andrew was known for his quiet charisma, remarkable intelligence, kind heart, and unwavering love of Jesus Christ. He carried a calm and thoughtful presence that touched everyone who knew him.
Andrew began serving his mission in 2024 and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to sharing the gospel and serving the people of Brazil with compassion, humility, and faith. He found great joy in helping others and living his beliefs through service and love.
He had a deep love for chess and enjoyed the challenge and strategy of the game. More importantly, Andrew loved people. Whether through a quiet conversation, a thoughtful act of kindness, or simply being there for someone in need, he made others feel seen, valued, and loved.
Andrew is survived by his loving parents, Mark Andrew Johnson and Callie Rae Johnson; his siblings, Julie DeAnn Johnson (17), Porter Burton Johnson (13), and Maxfield Sterling Johnson (8).
Though his time on earth was far too short, Andrew’s faith, example, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Funeral service details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
