Obituary

Ann Taylor Moon, our precious sweet matriarch, passed away on December 9th, 2019. She was born August 14th, 1932 in Higgins, Texas. At the age of 14, after the death of both of her birth parents, she was sent to Utah to live. Grandma and Grandpa Taylor adopted mom and she was later sealed to them for time and all eternity. Gammy always told us, "she was always meant to be my daughter- she just had to come the long way to get home to us". Ann graduated from Provo High School May of 1951. Brothers Stan Taylor and Tom Moon did the best job matchmaking ever, when they introduced Clarence and Ann to each other! The rest was a wonderful life together for 66 years. Ann served three missions to Brazil with Clarence. The first mission was a family mission and mom and dad left with four children and came home with five. Mom had their little Brazilian, Carol Ann while serving that mission. Ann and Clarence served in the São Paulo, Brazil Temple for two more missions. Ann deeply loved her family. She made everyone feel as though they were her favorite. Equally and unconditionally. She loved her grand and great grandchildren, traveling with dad, reading, gardening, Cheetos, cinnamon bears and gummy bears, family get togethers, and looking through her picture albums. Not particularly in that order. Ann had a deep, personal testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her life, service, and devotion exemplified that. She was a life member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in all the organizations during her life. Her love knew no limits or bounds; and we are dreading life without her for now. She is survived by her children, Catherine Moon Petersen, Ellen Moon Page, Gregory T. Moon & Melvin Taylor. Her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Stan (Victoria) Taylor, brother Grant Cooley and sister May Cooley Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Moon, daughter Carol Ann Moon and son John Moon. Also, her brother Paul Taylor and her Cooley siblings, James, Betty, Mary, Rosa Lee and Larry O'Brien. We appreciate so much Jared Moore, from Emcompass, for being the best, attentive nurse ever! We are thankful for Katiuska Garrido (Kathy Owens) from Emcompass for her gentle service to mom each week! Our most heartfelt thanks to Osana Tauiautusa, from Caring Hearts, for lovingly caring for our mother. We sincerely thank Tiffany Tenney with Walker Sanderson for her extra sensitive support and care she has shown our family and loved ones. Also, thanks to Debbi Heaps for all her assistance with the details we have needed for mom's passing! She has gone above and beyond her job for us. Visitation will be held Friday December 13th, 7:00-8:30 pm at the LDS chapel at 950 S. 50 E. in Orem. Visitation will also be held 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday December 14th, and the funeral will begin at 11:00 am at the same location (950 S. 50 E. in Orem).
