Obituary

Anthony James Honey, possessing a tremendous amount of strength, love, and amazing kindness, passed away Friday, December 6th, 2024 (his favorite time of the year, Christmas).

Anthony fought duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) for almost 19 years, he was 18 at the time of his passing. Anthony was born on May 11th, 2006 in American Fork UT, to his parents Mark and Sharon Honey. He graduated from American Fork High School this year, he was so excited. He chose his theme for graduation and wanted a specific look! Selecting his Cowboy hat, coat, shirt, and pants for his graduation photo (pictured). He loved school and especially his teachers and aids and they so loved him! He'd bring his favorite stuffed animal in with him, a green "T-Rex" which led to many interesting conversations and games. Anthony was always looking out for others and was actually quite bossy - in a beautiful way - "Dad, no more bacon" he'd love to say while fixing family breakfast. "Dad - don't put too much pepper in that". He'd always observe how meals were prepared to ensure it was done properly - he also insisted on making brownies for every holiday family meal. He had a special place in his heart for all his siblings and was very protective as well - telling us if his other two brothers, who also have DMD, needed assistance (which was daily). Even though his disease progressed to the point where he was totally dependent, he always found joy in life and loved being a social butterfly.

Anthony's eldest brother Richard preceded him to heaven, but is survived by his 6 other brothers and sisters. Jessica (Kenne), Rachel (Johnson), Nathan, Rebekah, Joshua, and Andrew. Anthony was the youngest of the family.

A funeral will take place on December 14th, at 11:00 a.m. at the meeting house of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on 1320 West 3540 North, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062.
