Arturo Ramirez Sanchez (67) of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, passed away May 8, 2023 at 4:10 am in his home surrounded by family and friends.

Arturo has worked in Construction for over 30+ years and 20+ years at Miller General Contractors. He also received his certification in mechanics in California in the late 80s. During the time Arturo did mechanic work to get by and provide financial support for his new family.

Arturo was exposed to asbestos in the 80s that would later come to haunt him and his family w/ cancer. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (mesothelioma) in June of 2020. He was diagnosed after having 4 liters of fluid removed from his lungs when realizing it was more complex than was ever imagined. Arturo decided to still put up a fight and continued with chemotherapy and radiation treatments from Intermountain Healthcare and Huntsman Cancer Institute. During this time, Arturo continued to work up until December 2022 when physically he was not able to walk and handle the cold like before.

Arturo is survived by his late wife Maria Luisa and his children, Connie, Aruturo Jr, Oswaldo, Aimee, Vereniz and his two step-kids Jackie and Elthon Ruiz. He is also survived by his siblings Thomas, Pedro and Alma Ramirez. Arturo's first wife and mother of his five children was Patricia Alonso, married for 30+ years. He later married Maria Luisa Ruiz on December 22 of 2020. In total, Arturo had 20 grandchildren.

Arturo had a passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He collected rocks, antiques, Deer Antlers and watches. Most weekends he spent his time doing home renovations or yard work and taking his family to the Mountains on Sundays.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Viewing will be 11am-12:00pm and the celebration of life starts at 12pm.
