Barbara Kaluapalaoa Kekauoha Aldous 1928 ~ 2017 Orem, UT-Barbara K. Aldous, 89, died September 29, 2017 at her home after a short battle with pneumonia. Barbara was born January 3, 1928 to George Kaluna Kekauoha and Esther Seu Chin Chong in Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii. She and Duane Aldous were married July 21, 1955 by the Vice-Consul in Naha, Okinawa and again the following day by the District President in the Sukiran Chapel. They were sealed for time and all eternity, July 5, 1956 in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Barbara graduated from Utah State University in 1951 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving in many capacities. She served an LDS mission to Nauvoo, Illinois (1997-98) with her husband Duane. They also spent a year in the BYU sponsored China Teachers Program where they taught English to Chinese students at Jinan University. They served as ordinance workers in the Mount Timpanogos Temple for 12 years. Survived by her husband Duane; 5 children Keith (Charis) Aldous; Valerie (Rob) Lunnen: Jeffrey (Chantale) Aldous; Melanie (Kirk) Roney; Wade (Sherri) Aldous; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and brother Clifford N. Kekauoha. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers George W. Kekauoha; Willard K. Kekauoha and Wallace K. Kekauoha; and grandson Trent B. Aldous. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017, 11:00 a.m. in the Orem 6th Ward, 365 South 900 East, Orem. Family and friends may visit Friday evening at the church from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. or Saturday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in East Lawn City Cemetery.
