IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara K
Anderson
March 13, 1936 – December 1, 2024
Barbara K. Anderson, a remarkable woman known for her kindness, resilience, and musical talents, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, in Lindon, Utah. Born in Murray, Utah, Barbara devoted her life to service, creativity, and her beloved family.
Barbara's professional journey included time at Kirk's Drive-Inn and Burrell's Information Services, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression. Her passion, however, was music. A gifted pianist, organist, and accompanist, Barbara shared her talents generously, uplifting countless lives with her beautiful playing. Her music was not just a skill but a profound expression of her spirit. Mom was also an avid reader. This was how she honed her crossword skills and how she became an almost unbeatable Scrabble player. She also loved to knit and crochet, making many beautiful afghans, sweaters, mittens, and beanies.
Barbara was also a devoted homemaker and caregiver, embodying love and compassion in every role she embraced. Her family was the center of her universe, and she nurtured them with unwavering support and care.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Lucy and Marvin Kirk; her brother, Boyd; her husband, Gail; three of her four children, Joel, Bryce, and Amy Jo; and a great-granddaughter, Talitha Cumi. Despite these profound losses, Barbara's strength and grace never wavered.
She is survived by her loving son, Kirk (Linda); daughter-in-law, Cindy (Joel's widow); and a devoted family that includes grandchildren: Jacob (Melinda), Joshua, Jeffrey (Eve), Harley, Hannah, Kaitlyn (Alex), Kristi (Ronan); and great-grandchildren: Kaden, Lucy, Jaxon, Liam, Maximus, Marley, Hendrix, Izabella, and Aurelia.
Family and friends are invited to honor Barbara's life at a viewing on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem. A second viewing will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Orem North LDS Stake Center, 1000 N Main St., Orem, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m.
Barbara will be laid to rest at Timpanogos Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to her husband Gail, with a graveside dedication.
We would encourage anyone who has a story that they would like to share, please submit those here on the obituary comment section. They will be saved and shared with family.
Barbara's legacy of love, music, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her strength, compassion, and joy will continue to inspire her family and friends, reminding them of the beauty she brought into the world.
