Barbara Ann Thomas Davis, 70, of Orem, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 after battling cancer for eight years. Barbara was born March 4, 1950 in San Diego, California to Maston Eli Thomas Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Haase. She was the oldest of three children.
At the age of 18 Barbara joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully and lovingly in many callings and most recently served in the Provo Utah Temple.
Barbara worked full-time at an insurance brokerage company after graduating from Claremont Mesa Jr. College with an Associates degree. After moving to Utah, she worked full-time at Brigham Young University as a secretary in the Employment office. Barbara met Max, and they were married in 1975 in the Provo Utah Temple. They raised a family of four children in Orem, Utah. She loved being a stay-at-home mom. After the children were grown, she especially enjoyed working for Jackman Music.
The most important thing to Barbara was her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Barbara was a beautiful, kind, caring, compassionate person who always thought of others before herself and was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Throughout her life her desires were to serve God. One of her favorite scriptures was John 3:16.
Her brother Richard described her best when he said: "[as a child] Barb was always nice and very kind... I don't ever recall her being really angry. She only thought she was. She was always too kind to be mean even when she thought she was being mean." Her kindness was evident throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband Max Davis; children: Matthew (Christina) Davis, John (Annie) Davis, Melissa (Jeff) Oliver, and Jared Davis; thirteen loving grandchildren: Jade, Kimber, Jacob, Brianna, Caitlyn, Eli, Addison, Macie, Malina, Kinley, Bridger, Holland, and Aislyn; and brother Ron (Connie) Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her brother Richard. We express our love and gratitude to our neighbors in the Canyon View 1st Ward and Orem Utah Canyon View Stake who have been so kind with prayers and many acts of service.
We love and appreciate Dr. Craig Cook, Jory, Christy, Melissa, Brenna, and Lacee who have made it possible for us to have her for these past eight years dealing with cancer.
