Obituary

Barbara Elaine Hunsaker 1939-2017 Barbara Elaine Hunsaker, 77, of Orem died July 12, 2017, after many years of suffering from the rare disease Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). She was born in Tremonton, Utah, on October 19, 1939, to Morrell and Elaine Hunsaker. The third of six children, she grew up on a farm in Honeyville, Utah. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City. She married Paul Duane Hunsaker on July 11, 1956. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married for 61 years. She loved to learn. She loved people, especially children. She quietly touched the lives of many with her compassion, wisdom, and her ability to listen and understand. She had a strong testimony of the Savior and of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her husband, sons Jerry (Vicki), Malcom (Sherry), Alan (Jill), and Rodger (Trisha), daughter Paula Smoot (Harold), twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Janet Billings and Joyce Hamberlin, and a brother, Sheldon. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Orland and Bob. Her funeral will be on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Orem Stake Center, 80 South 280 East in Orem. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 9:40 that morning and on Friday, July 21st, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North in Orem. She will be buried in the Honeyville City Cemetery. Her family is grateful to the staff at the University of Utah Movement Disorders Clinic, Envision Home Health and Hospice, The Peaks Care and Rehab, and BeeHive Homes of Orem.
