James
October 15, 1935 – November 16, 2024
Barbara Piatt James passed way November 16, 2024. Born on October 15, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa, the youngest of the four children of James Lafayette Piatt and Alice Trimble Piatt. She lived on the family farm in Iowa until she was six when her family moved to Utah following the death of her mother. She went to school in Bountiful and graduated from Davis High School in 1953. She married Arvil James on October 24, 1953. The couple raised their family in Salt Lake City. She worked for the University of Utah Medical Center until she retired in 1998.

She traced her line back to the early 1600's and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Barbara was excited to learn of the role many of her ancestors played in American history.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Piatt Larson and her brothers Doran Allen Piatt and James Belmont Piatt. She is survived by her husband William Arvil James and her four children Laura James Payton, Kathryn Ann "Kate" James, William Kevin James and Bradley James. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She loved her pets and enjoyed gardening, but all who knew her understood that her passion was her family. Barbara will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
