Obituary

Our sweet, valiant warrior, Beckham Michael Peterson leveled up and gained his angel wings on November 24, 2021, at age 11 after battling pediatric cancer for 8 years. Beckham was born on June 11, 2010, to parents Brian Hal Peterson and Sarah Lynn Turner. Beckham was a true warrior in his battle with cancer. He inspired everyone he met with his intense determination, courage and a fierce will to live. He naturally drew people in with his quiet confidence and was wise beyond his years, always willing to do whatever it took to fight the cancer. Throughout his journey Beckham had to endure an innumerable amount of painful treatments and medications, but he would say, "It hurts but I am not afraid because it is fighting cancer." He did it again and again, always pushing through his fears and never giving up. Optimism defined him. Beckham was a delight in the lives of all who knew him. He could always be found near his sister and best friend, Navy. One of his favorite things to do was play Fortnite with his friends and cousins. He also loved to play chess, which he learned from his Grandpa Steve. Beckham was a prankster. He had a playful sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes on friends and family. He loved Legos and would say that he was a "master builder." This proved true as he could build anything he came across, no matter the skill level. Beckham was always inspired by superheroes. In fact, he was one himself. Beckham is survived by his parents Brian and Sarah and his sister Navy. He leaves behind grandparents, Steven and Valorie Peterson and Craig and Janine Turner and many aunts, uncles, and cousins that all adored him. The family welcomes all to his funeral services, held on Saturday, December 4th at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 15399 South Noell Nelson Drive Riverton, Utah with a public viewing prior to the services from 9am-10:30am. A graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights, UT. A public viewing will also be held Friday, December 3rd from 6:00-8:00pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, located at 646 E. 800 N. Orem, UT. The family would like to thank all of the amazing doctors and nurses for the exceptional care they provided Beckham with throughout the years, as well as the many cancer support groups for the countless positive experiences and cherished memories. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help offset the costs of funeral expenses, incurred medical bills and general support. Thank you for any offerings as they will give financial relief at this time. All proceeds go directly to Beckham's parents, the gofundme name is "Beckham Peterson's family funeral and medical fund." https://gofund.me/ec199582
