She was born August 3, 1942 as the oldest child of Travest and Oral Johnson. She was raised and spent her childhood in Eastland, Utah, which always held a special place in her heart. Mom met the love of her life Anthony Jarvis and they married August 3, 1962. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. She graduated from Monticello High and attended Brigham Young University where she studied nursing until she began her most cherished career of motherhood. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. Among all of her many church callings throughout her life, she cherished the years spent serving the Lord as a temple worker at the Payson and Provo temples. Among the various jobs she held over the years her most loved position was working with the elementary aged children. Whether it was teaching them to read or working in the library, she was passionate about reading and wanted all children to have that gift. Mom and Dad raised their seven children in their family home in Provo. In the 40 years they lived there they made lifelong friends. Many nights were spent playing cards, visiting on the porch, and having fires in the backyard. Some of her most memorable times were family dinners and camping trips up Provo Canyon. Mom was a beautiful painter, an avid reader, and an amazing cook. She loved having a large garden and found joy in bottling the fruits of her labor to feed her family. Of all the many things she enjoyed, being a devoted grandmother was her favorite. She loved spending time with, having sleepovers, playing games, and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, her charitable spirit, and unconditional love. She is survived by six of her children, Monica Jarvis, Lori Adams, Cheryl (Wayne) Smith, Pam (Kylee) Steadman, Kenny Jarvis, and Jason (Rhiannon) Jarvis, 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Bart (Val) Johnson, Marie (Dave) Gruver, LaJuan (Joe) Shoemaker, and Dorothy Whiting. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Anthony, and her son, Gary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3rd 2021, at 11a.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 East 800 North in Orem. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8pm and on Friday morning, 9:30 10:30a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be held at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
