Betty Lucille Dean Burch, 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grand mother passed away on July 22, 2018. She was born February 28, 1925 in Casper, Wyoming. She was the first child of Stanley Ridges Dean and Elva Crosbie Dean. A few months after her birth the family moved to Salt Lake City, where an additional three children were born--Beverly, Kenneth and Robert Dean. When she was five, her parents divorced and the children and mother, Elva, moved in with her grandparents in Provo, Utah. There they lived until the children married and left home. Betty's maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha Crosbie, were a big influence in her life. She went to Central Elementary, Maeser Elementary, Dixon Middle School, Provo High School and a semester at Brigham Young University. She served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life in many positions. She met her husband of 69 years in high school art class. William Bradford Burch was a native of Provo. They were married in September 1943 while on leave from the Navy during World War II. When the war ended, they lived in Provo, Ogden and then transferred with JC Penney to Spokane, Washington. They lived in Spokane until 1991, when they retired and moved back to Orem, Utah. Betty worked for Bill's sign shop keeping the finances and bookkeeping. They raised five children in Spokane and supported them all in their studies at Brigham Young University. She is survived by her five children, William Bradford Burch II (Lynda) of Henderson, Nevada, Barbara Burch Gant (Steven) of Orem, Utah, Brent Dean Burch (Shannon) of Greenville, North Carolina, Brian David Burch (Jan) of Sacramento, California and Robert Douglas Burch (Eve) of Henderson, Nevada. Betty also has 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Suncrest 9 th Ward, 140 North 400 West, Orem, UT. Family and friends may visit prior to services from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
