Our beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Irene Patton Greer, passed away peacefully from pneumonia on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family and love ones. Betty was born May 19, 1930, in Lamar, Colorado, to Milton Jackson Patton and Marguerite Cunningham Patton. Betty graduated from Provo High School in 1948. In 1950, she met Earl H. Greer from Provo who had just returned home from serving his country in the US Army in WWII. They married November 16, 1951, and were married 60 years prior to his death in September 2012. She worked at Geneva Steel for 30 years as secretary to the Manager of Accounting and later as secretary to the Coke Plant Division Manager. Betty was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions. Two positions she enjoyed most were co-chairman of the Bi-Centennial Celebration in 1976 in the Orem 13th Ward and as scribe to the Sharon Stake Patriarch, Max Curtis. She also served as an ordinance worker at Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple for several years. She is survived by her three daughters; Corky Milne (Chris), St. Louis, MO; Shelly Juber, Orem, UT; Dana Frederiksen (Tim), Salt Lake City, UT; brother Nephi Patton (Diane), Philomath, OR; sister Sharon Ford (Hal), Salt Lake City, UT; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Patricia Patton Stubbs, stillborn son, Milton Earl and great-granddaughter, Blakely Merrill. Sincere appreciation to Kelly Hyatt, Alpha Home Health Care, who visited mom every day for the last 5 1/2 years and to Wendy Selmos and Kelli Packer from Inspiration Hospice who made mom's last week of life peaceful and comfortable. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 11:00 am at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, UT. A visitation will be held at Funeral Home, one-hour prior at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkersanderson.com.
