Beverly Jean Musekamp Balden Hufford died on October 3, 2017 at the age of 87 in the Orem Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Orem, Utah. Her final days were attended by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the staff of Brighton Hospice. Her mortal remains will be buried in the Orem City Cemetery. Beverly Jean Musekamp was born July 13, 1929, to Albert Musekamp and Wilma Pearl Dartt Musekamp in Bend, Deschutes, Oregon. She was joined by a brother, Marvin David Musekamp, in 1931, also born in Bend, and a sister, Helen Elaine Musekamp, in 1934 who was born after the family's return to the Black Hills of South Dakota. She grew up and attend grade school and high school in Rapid City, South Dakota. On August 2, 1947, she married Norman Alexander Balden (Tommy) in the base chapel at Weaver Air Force Base in Pennington County, South Dakota. They were joined by their daughter Wilma Jean Balden who was born at the Weaver Air Force Base while Tommy was serving in the Air Force. They relocated to Chicago, Illinois, for Tommy to attend training after release from the Air force where they were joined by John Albert Balden. A second son, Richard Thomas Balden, joined them after their return to Rapid City and their last son, Donald George Balden joined them in Buffalo, Wyoming. The family lived in various places in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. The marriage ended on February 28, 1964, in Lewistown, Montana. Beverly moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was living when she became one of the first female letter carriers hired by the US Post Office. On August 14, 1969, she married Roy Clyde Hufford in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother, both husbands, and two nephews. She is survived by her sister, Helen Svoboda of Sacramento, California; her daughter, Jean Kenney of Buffalo, Wyoming; her son, John Balden of Orem, Utah; her son, Richard Balden of Overland Park, Kansas; her son Donald Balden of Pensacola, Florida; 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; some great great grandchildren; her niece, Tina Smith, of Sacramento California; and various other family members.
