Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian Tregaskis, beloved

husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on January 2, 2025. He was 62

years old.

Brian was born in 1962 to Don and Gail Tregaskis, and grew up in a close-knit

family. As an Eagle Scout, Brian's love for the outdoors was evident. He developed

particular passions for scuba diving, woodworking, photography, cars, geology, and

off-roading. These hobbies continued to bring joy throughout his lifetime.

Brian's talent behind the camera led to his work at The Daily Herald newspaper in

Provo, Utah. After beginning as a photographer, he was able to develop knowledge

in computer technology and software programming as the I.T. Director for Lee

Enterprises. This later led to work with Vivint Smart Home in testing and

development of new tech for the company.

One of Brian's greatest passions was adventuring. Over the years, he shared in a

yearly "Desert Hell" with some of his closest friends that led to lifelong bonds. In

addition to sharing these adventures with friends, it instilled a deep love of nature

within his family.

His best friend and travel companion, Rose, became Brian's wife on December 27th,

2007. He had three children with his first wife, Gay, and gained a bonus daughter in

his marriage to Rose. Whether trekking in the desert or soaking in the tropical

sunshine on vacations, Brian continued to find ways to share adventures with his

loved ones throughout his lifetime.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Gail. He is survived by his wife

Rose, son Carson (Michael), daughters Jessica, Natahlia (Jacob), and Emily "Mae",

grandson Rhoan, and siblings Brent (Bonnie), Trinka (Steve), and Michael (Susan).

A memorial service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral

Home & Crematory located at 646 E 800 N Orem, Utah on January 15th from

6:00pm to 8:00pm. To honor his life, the family openly invites anyone to share

loving stories, memories, or thoughts about Brian during the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that each individual takes the time to appreciate

nature, pause and enjoy a sunset, and toast to the good life.

"Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way." - Jimmy
