IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brittany Maurine
Sanderson
January 2, 1977 – March 6, 2023
'You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray, you'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away."
Our precious Britt has been taken away. She sweetly and quietly slipped from this life into paradise on March 6th breaking the hearts of so many left behind.
Our Brittany (Bertie, Bert, Britty) was born into the loving family of Delray and Patti Sanderson on January 2, 1977, in Provo, becoming the fourth of five children. Britt's arrival firmly sealed her spot as one of the three "Sanderson Sisters" for 46 eventful years. Together the trio truly lived up to their name and fame. Her older brother Shaan and younger brother Joshua kept her on her toes and taught her by honorable example and just a hint of fear.
Britt framed her life between the words of goodness, gentleness, and her sly sense of humor. She grew into a young woman among the friends of Provost Elementary, Farrer Junior High and Timpview High School. Her warmth shone in her creative abilities, devotion to family, work ethic, and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the years Britt has quietly become our "beloved Aunt Bertie", devoted sister, persevering mom, faithful dog lover and loyal friend. We could always count on Britt and we did.
In her teens Britt found joy in working with her dad. She became his hands. Those two were the "mighty duo" which resulted in hearts seared together in looks, actions, and personality. They were twiners and we are certain that her angel dad came that afternoon to take her home.
Her adult life took many roads and destinations. Britt moved from Maple Valley, WA, to Fremont, CA, to Santa Rosa CA, and on to the great state of Texas. Wherever she called home, she gathered fond memories and formed lasting friendships. In 2017 she and her children returned home to Utah and to her family. In recent years Britt's life turned a sweet corner when she began working with the lunch program at Mountain View High School in Orem. She loved her people there and it was only her illness that ended that chapter of life.
Since returning home we've seen our Britt become a happy "partner in crime", a devoted shopping buddy, an onion ring and pizza connoisseur, lawn mowing fanatic and her kid's cheerleader. We knew there was excitement in the air seeing that little gray Mazda come around the corner. Those happy thoughts and many others make Britt one of those favorite people one fortunately meets in their lifetime.
Our Brittany Maurine may have lost her 5-year battle with breast cancer but she has truly won her victory over death. We want to honor those whose fervent efforts gave us four additional years to spend together. Thank you!
Britt reluctantly leaves behind her precious children, McKenna, David, Aria and Axel. She leaves her mom Patti, brothers Shaan, wife Kodi and family, Joshua and family, sisters Aimee and Tom Wind and family, Ashlee and Blake Barney and family and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Our sunshine is less brilliant with her passing but we are assured that Families Are Forever and the best is yet to come. That is HIS promise!
Until we meet again our dearest Britt, keep shining!
