Bud C. Bird, our loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, and returned to his Heavenly Father.

Born on October 25, 1944 in Springville, Utah, Bud was the son of Byard and Tess Bird. He married Mary Lee Nelson on October 27, 1966, and their union was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 12, 1967.

Bud’s greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his family. On weekends, you could often find him at Strawberry Reservoir, fishing with his sons and grandsons. In the 2010s, he developed a passion for NASCAR and would take his sons to the races in Las Vegas every March.

Bud was a devoted servant. Every weekend, he would travel throughout Salt Lake and Utah County to help his family members. He could be found babysitting his grandchildren at his son’s house and later grocery shopping in Mount Pleasant for a relative.

Bud is survived by his children, Scott (Misti), Bird, Stacy (Gary) Dean, Brett (Lisa) Bird, Kimberly (Rawlyn) Niemann, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Tim Bird, and his sisters Debbie Nielsen and Linda Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byard and Tess Bird, his sister Julie Bird, and brothers Dan and Bill Bird.

A viewing will be held on May 29, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m at the Sharon 4th Ward building located at 445 S. 700 E.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the same location. Interment will take place in the Orem City Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.walkersanderson.com.
