IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Burton Kenneth
Spurrier
April 27, 1937 – April 27, 2023
The Family of Burton Kenneth Spurrier (Ken) are sad to announce his passing on April 27th, 2023. Ken slipped the bonds of this earthly life, surrounded by his family.
Ken was born April 27th, in Murray Utah to his loving parents Lester K Spurrier & Orinna R Spurrier. Ken grew up in Eureka Utah, moved to San Bernadino California at age 18.
Ken is survived by his wife Rose Alice (Wells) Spurrier of 65 years, their four children, Rodger (Nan) Spurrier, Kenny (Kathy)Spurrier, Karen (Nick)Kogianes, Julie (Cory)Mortenson, Sister Carolyn Levitt, 14 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Ken was the father, Grandfather, Cousin, Uncle that everyone gravitated to. He always had a song to sing, a joke to tell, a story to tell, a hug to give, and kind loving words to say to everyone that was lucky enough to cross his path. You could depend on Ken for anything and everything, at any time, any place.
He loved spending time with his children fishing, swimming, skiing, watching movies, eating, and just being at family and church gatherings.
Ken loved trains, planes, and history. He spent many hours over the last three months of his illness talking about his childhood, the history of Eureka, and all the fun and amazing things his children & grandchildren did together throughout his lifetime. He talked of his love for his wife and memories of their younger years, the good times, and the challenges throughout the years. His priority was his love and devotion to his wife and children and making sure everyone was taken care of.
Ken was a hardworking man. His greatest joy was working for IFA as the maintenance Manager throughout his life in Utah. He built and maintained so many of the silos you see today at many locations.
Ken is the genuine, gentle soul that everybody is going to miss.
The Family would like to thank the many Doctors, nurses and caregivers who had helped with dads care the past 3 months; to the sweet CNA's, nurses and caregivers at the Orem Care center and Orem Stonehenge for being there with dad every moment. Many tears were shed and the wonderful staffs would share the special moments and love they had for dad even for the brief time he was there with them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of him.
