Our sweet mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Candace Lee Miller left this earthly existence on October 31, 2019, after a short illness. She was born on November 7th, 1956 to Louis Lee Miller and Dolly Avis Morgan Miller in Big Springs, Texas. She grew up as an Air Force Brat, as she would say, Before settling in Orem, Utah where she attended Orem High School. After High school, she married Charles Arthur Petersen and had two sons, Charles McCarthy Petersen and Christopher Louis Petersen, they were later divorced.
Candy, as she preferred to be called, worked in the medical field in different capacities for 10 years, then moved to Wyoming where she continued work in that field and also as an EMT for the Wheatland, Wyoming Ambulance Services. She moved back to Orem, Utah continuing in that field.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was endowed later in her life at the Provo, Utah Temple and found great joy in Temple service.
She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and supported them in all of their interests. She spent many hours weathering the cold at football games and the heat at baseball games. She spent much of her time walking dogs with the grandkids, camping, and going to movies. The important thing was that she was with family.
She had a special love of music and for the last several years was a singer with the Chauntenettes Women's Chorus, where they performed at many firesides and other programs..
She is survived by her sons; Charles (Jessica), Chris (Linda), grandchildren, Tabatha, Olivia, Jocelyn, and Dylan, and great grandson, Deklyn. She is also survived by her brother, Jeff Miller and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Dolly Miller, a brother Louis Craig Miller, Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker-Sanderson funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah., There will also be at 9:30 a.m. preceding the funeral. Candy will be laid to rest in the Orem City Cemetery, near her family.
