Obituary

Carol Nedean Carter 1934-2018 Carol N. Kofford Carter passed away the morning of February 28, 2018 of heart failure. She was born January 8, 1934 on the "Provo Bench", graduating from Lincoln High in 1952. She was the second child of Ned and Utahna Kofford. She grew up in Orem and often said she spent more time at her grandmother's home than she did her own. She often displayed personal characteristics learned during the great depression by never throwing away something that could be used again such as plastic utensils and used batteries. She married Dale C. Carter January 7, 1952, prior to him reporting for active duty military service in the Marine Corps. She followed him to Barstow, California and then back to Orem after Dad's separation from the Corps, buying a house and living there until her death. This is also where she and Dad raised their three children - Linda (Steve) Larson, Orem, Greg (Kim), Highland, and Brad, American Fork. Mom loved to fish and she and dad spent many weekends fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. Nearby boats could hear her excitement as she exclaimed, "OOH, OOH, OOH ," after she hooked a fish. Occasionally, she would co-pilot dad during road trips on the 18 wheeler to California and Canada. She loved little league baseball games during the 60's, wrestling matches and more baseball games during the 70's and camping with close friends during the 80's and 90's. She particularly loved spending time with her grand-children and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included, crocheting numerous beautiful Afghans and hot-pads which she loved to give away. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Dale as well as both of her parents. She is the grandmother to 9 grand-children, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She is survived by her close sister Colleen Anderson and a brother. Funeral services will be provided by the Walker Sanderson Funeral home, 646 E. 800 N., Orem, Utah, beginning at 10:00 for the immediate family viewing, and a short memorial service for friends and family beginning at 11:00. Graveside services will commence at the Orem City Cemetery.
