IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Hettie
Fisher
December 12, 1934 – July 26, 2023
Carol Hettie Ostler Fisher, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away on July 26th, 2023. She was born to Arthur Lavell Ostler and Hettie Bartholomew, on December 12, 1934. For much of her early childhood she grew up in Provo. She admired and respected her parents and grandparents. She attended Provo High School and Springville High School and graduated from Springville.
Carol met Phillip Neff Fisher while on a date with another boy. Phillip winked at her and the two quickly ended up together. They married on October 24th, 1953 at the Salt Lake Temple. They had three sons: Phillip Brent, Keith Neff (deceased) and Fred G.
As a proficient baker, Carol worked as a Nutritious Services Lunch Worker at Cherry Hill Elementary, Scera Park (now Centennial), and Orem Elementary. She worked 15 years in total for the Alpine School District.
Carol attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her adult life. She served in numerous callings. Perhaps her most memorable experiences were as a Primary Teacher and Primary President, as a Spanish name extractor for the Family History program, and as a worker at the Mount Timpanogos temple. As she grew old, many remember her doing her best to attend church with a cane and slow, frail movement.
Carol cherished her friends of which she had many. Some were lifelong. Her friends were a blessing and a strength in her later years.
She will be missed.
She is survived by her siblings Joan Averett and Sam Ostler. Her sons Brent and Fred. Her grandchildren Alexandria, Shayne, and Keisha. Her great-grandchildren Jonathan and Galadriel. And numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on July 31st from 6 to 8 PM at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 East 800 North in Orem. And on August 1st from 9:30 to 10: 30 AM at the LDS Chapel at 114 South 400 West in Orem. Funeral Services will begin at 11AM. She will be interred at the Orem Cemetery next to her husband Phillip. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkersanderson.com
