Obituary

Our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother, Carol Vivian Bartlett Hoover, passed away on October 18, 2020. Carol was born on August 18, 1931 in Provo Canyon to Willis "Wick" Earl Bartlett and Maud Elizabeth Nielsen Bartlett. She spent her childhood and early youth riding her horses and loving the freedom of exploring all the mountains around her family home. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she graduated from Orem Lincolin High School in 1949, she also worked at her family buisness in Provo Canyon, "Wicks Place". It was there that she met the love of her life Richard "Mark" Hoover. The two married and moved to Orem where they raised their two children. They loved the outdoors and spent many family vacations hunting and fishing with extended family or friends. Carol worked for many years at Barbizon then later taught at Utah Technical Colledge in Provo/Orem. She retired from there after 25 years. Some of the greatest joys in her life were watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren learn, develop, and succeed in their endeavors. She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, sewing, and then sharing her handiwork with family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Mark Hoover. Her parents Wick and Maud Bartlett, brother Earl Bartlett, sister LaVern Folk , and her great grandson Justin Dastrup. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Faye Sanders (Kelly) of LaVerkin Utah, her son Reed Hoover of Pioche Nevada. Her 5 grandchildren Stacy Tucker (Shane), Markell Jensen (Phillip), Cody Sanders (Cassandra), Ryan Hoover (Rachael), and Marci Hoover. 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. We will surley miss our mother and grandmother. She spent countless hours with all of us. There are no words to express how much gratitude we have for the time we had with her. All of her life lessons, lifes work, and her life long commetment to us. We love our "classy lady". There is no doubt that she is celebrating a reunion with her family and friends on the other side.
