IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
Lickey
January 26, 1945 – May 7, 2025
Carol Ann Latham Lickey, lovingly known as Ann passed away May 7, 2025, in Provo, Utah. Ann was born January 26, 1945, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the second daughter of Floyd and Alma (McCurdy) Latham.
Ann attended Oskaloosa Senior High where she was a drummer in the band. She also would meet Nolan Lickey, even having lockers right next to each other. But it wasn't until after high school when Nolan would make a phone call asking Ann out for the first time.
Ann and Nolan were married February 26, 1966, in Oskaloosa, and quickly moved to Warrenburg, Missouri where Nolan was attending Missouri State University. While Nolan was in school, Ann worked in the Student Health Center.
After school, life found them in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where they welcomed their son Brian in December 1975. After 14 years in Arkansas, the family made their way to Utah in 1989 for Nolan to work at Utah Valley State College (now named Utah Valley University). Ann worked at UVSC as the Assistant Director in the Disabilities Services department, doing what she loved, helping people. She continued working there until retiring in 2004. In 2005, her grandson Hunter was born and quickly became the center of her life and the apple of her eye.
Ann was an amazing volunteer teacher and loved working with those with mental health disorders. She was a volunteer with NAMI, teaching the Family-to-Family class. She was very outgoing and friendly, a doer – not a watcher, making her perfect for these volunteer positions. Everyone loves Ann!
She was a beautiful photographer, working mostly in nature photography. She created "Ann's Art" where she produced beautiful cards and calendars. They enjoyed traveling, and Ann could be found snapping photos everywhere they went. She and Nolan were both certified scuba divers and made many dives in freshwater lakes in the Missouri-Kansas area, as well as several ocean dives. She was a very accomplished sport diver. She was an avid reader and would read just about anything.
Ann enjoyed camping, but only if they were well prepared. It was said that if they happened to get stuck somewhere when traveling they would be set with everything they needed for months.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband Nolan, her son Brian, grandson Hunter, and her older sister Doris. She was preceded in death by her parents.
