Obituary

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we share the loss of our beloved Charles Reid Dickson. Heavenly Father called him home passing suddenly in his home in Orem on Tuesday May 2, 2023.

Reid was born on November 1, 1960 in Bethpage, New York to his loving parents Richard Clarence Dickson and Faye Ann Markham Dickson. He grew up in Orem, Utah with his two brothers, Miles and Mark. He graduated from Orem High School in 1979 where he excelled in debate and was a member of the Yearbook staff.

Since the time he was a little boy, Reid had a strong desire to serve the Lord. He was called to serve a mission for the LDS Church in Tampa, Florida. For the next two years, he shared his testimony and love of the gospel with many.

Upon returning home, he met his Soulmate and love of his life Brenda Lee Gifford. They were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity on July 2, 1982. Together they raised their three children, Laura, Cheryl and Steven. He adored his six grandchildren, Branden, Ayva, Gavin, Isabella, Nevaeh, and Hazely and cherished every moment he spent with them.

After attending Utah Valley State College, he began his lifelong career in drafting and design. For over 27 years, Reid worked at Cottonwood Mill and Cabinet where he made many close friends and was respected for his hard work and dedication. With his desire to help and serve, he volunteered with the Utah County Sherriff where his passion for HAM Radio began. He was active with U.C.A.R.E.S and SCAT TEAM, where he could use his passion to give back to his community.

Reid was kind and thoughtful, a light and example to his family and friends. Whether he was talking conspiracy theories, religion or history, his knowledge and perspective was admired. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks and joking around.

Charles Reid Dickson will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all those who knew him. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched and memories he created.

We are holding a viewing at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home (646 E 800 N Orem) from 10-11am on Tuesday May 9, 2023, followed by a graveside service at Noon at the Orem City Cemetery (1520 N 800 E Orem).
