Obituary

Christine Williams Chavez, age 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017 in Provo. She was born November 2, 1951 in Payson, UT, to Robert Williams and Norma Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Chavez; father, Robert Williams; three children, Shane McGee (Connie) of Santaquin, Jason McGee (Rhonda) of Provo, and Christy Monico (Noe) of Layton; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Steven Williams, Carolyn Hansen, and Sharon Hartman. Her mother Norma Jackson Madsen precedes her in death. She married the love of her life, Carlos Chavez, on May 7, 1994. The past four months were cruel to Chris, but Carlos never left her side. On March 28 Chris was rushed in to surgery due to bleeding in her brain; no one ever suspected something so terrible. It was hard for the entire family to grasp the reality of what had happened, but Carlos kept a strong, positive attitude through it all. He was not only Chris's rock, but continues to be the family's rock too. He made sure he spent every second he could right along side her, making sure she was comfortable and was being taken care of. Chris was a very loving, caring, generous, giving, and compassionate person; she made sure no one was ever with out. Chris loved her family dearly; even if she was just going to the grocery store, or going antique shopping, she loved having family be there with her. A few things Chris enjoyed doing was fishing, camping, taking trips to Wendover, trying new arts and crafts, and watching her favorite television, shows such as: The Bold and the Beautiful, the Price is Right, and Ellen DeGeneres. Chris was a fun mix of a cowgirl and a hippie; she lived through the 70's, but country ran deep through her. She never took herself too seriously; she was always joking and having a good time. Chris will be missed by many but never forgotten, she will continue living in our hearts and memories. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem, UT 84097. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Orem Cemetery. Thank you for all of your love and support through these difficult times.
