Christmas Tilesa Gonzales
Our dear mother passed away in her sleep on September 28, 2021 due to a cardiac arrest. She had previously fought a cardiac arrest 2 weeks prior. She fought a good fight and has returned home to be with our Father in Heaven and loved ones who have gone before her.
Born December 24, 1966 and raised in Haleiwa Hawaii. She also moved around the island living in Waipahu and also Mililani where she attended Mililani High School. She lived her years with her younger brother and then reunited with her Mother Who lived in Independence, Missouri at the age of 15 years old where she continued her days of high school and graduated from William Chrisman High School.
She leaves behind 3 children Tina Leilani Childs, Melissa Eve Coffey, Jermaine Stephen Gonzales-Tofa and Shannon Aufai.
She was blessed with 5 grandsons: Josiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Ezekiel and Taimane. And she took in 3 nieces as her own Neveah, Taraeh and Breah. She also leaves behind Brothers: Peneuata, Raymondo, Faamoana, Laauli, Sagafili and Sone. Sisters: Tofiga and Palolo.
She took pride in her position in the service industry. She loved her work environment, meeting new people and delivering outstanding customer service. She later retired as a server after 25 rewarding years.
If there was music and dancing that's where you'd find Christmas showing off her 2 step, or Electric Slide. She loved to sing, Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All or Mariah Carey's Emotions was always a favorite of hers to that she be singing to as she would pull up to with the windows down music blasted. She didn't even care if she pulled into the parking lot of the Sunday services going on. It was just her and that song that existed at that moment. As she never cared to ever be on time in her life. As long as she had a presentable face she made sure she had a reason to be late. That side bun and side curlies were in tact to tackle anything that came her way. She always wore the brightest or was full of color as I would say those colors reflected her personality very bubbly and very vivacious.
She enjoyed any chance she got to babysit anyone of her five grandsons Josiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Ezekiel and Taimane where she spoiled them with love and affection. They gave her a reason to wake up a reason to love. She was such a better Grandma than we could have asked for.
She also had a fond love with dogs Remy, Laila and Tai Chi who she was able to see on a daily base and they loved her back. They were considered as her fury babies as she would call them. Laila would follow her everywhere in the house she went or even sat next to her to guard her while she ate awaiting for something to fall so she could swoop it up.
Her passion was retail therapy. Her favorite store was Ross and the Family Dollar Store, where she shopped very occasionally. You could always find her walking into the house with arms full of bags and then her Mango pineapple smoothie from McDonald's. She also had a way in the kitchen where she loved to cook fried pork chops, breakfast and the best coffee.
She loved to socialize. Her daily conversations were about what was current on reality tv or the latest gossip. She kept her relationships strong whether it be with a old coworker to the friend from church she made sure to always connect with them.
She loved to be out and about. She never turned down a opportunity to get out of the house even if it was just to cruise the town she was there. She enjoyed dinning out at restaurants, traveling, seeing the world. One of her favorite places to visit was Las Vegas and Utah.
She valued her membership in the Life Gate Church of Kansas City where she would attend. She loved to sing praises and listen to the word of God. She also attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints whenever she visited Utah.
Christmas always greeted everyone with her infectious smile. She always would stop to speak to a stranger and she always made sure that they left that better than he or she came in. She always took pride in her love for her kids and also her grandsons. For that she will be missed dearly!
Heaven has surely gained a valiant angel. Earth will continue to mourn your absence. You will forever be in our hearts our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. We love you and our days will be spent missing your spirit.
