IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie
Payne Williams
May 24, 1956 – August 19, 2024
Connie Ann Payne-Williams, age 68, of Orem, UT, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born on May 24, 1956, in Kearns Utah to the late Gerald (Jerry) and Helen Ashworth. She dedicated her life to serving her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, always putting others before herself and offering a helping hand whenever needed. Connie was a proud graduate of Orem High School, class of 1974. During high school she was a proud Tigerette. She married her high school sweetheart, Mark Payne, in 1975, and they enjoyed 35 beautiful years together until his passing. Mom was a devoted mother to her three children, Angie (David) Ferran, Stacy (Doug) Daniels, and Andrew Payne (Lauren), a doting grandmother to her five grandchildren, Haylie (Cody), Garrett (Courtlyne), Kennedy, London, and Harper and her great-granddaughter Amelia who all brought immense joy to her life. She later met and married Lynn Williams in 2011 and enjoyed almost 13 years together until her passing. Through Lynn she gained bonus kids, Michelle (Curtis) Snow, DeeDee (Matt) Gardner, Jaclyn (Chad) Hawke and 9 grandchildren, Brittny (Will), Megan (David), Madeline, Tadan, Staci (Ryan), Madilynn, Harrison, Kailie (Korben) and Tayler and 5 great grandchildren, Roy, Rose, Leon, Reagan, and Fay who she grew to love like her own.
Mom held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including Ward and Stake Young Women's, Relief Society President, and her favorite working in the library. She also served for four years at the MTC with Mark when he was in a Branch Presidency. Mom loved to travel. Before Mark's passing she would join Mark on any work trip she could. While he was in meetings, she would attend any close temple she could find. She found great comfort in her faith and developed lifelong friendships with those around her. After she married Lynn they went on a number of cruises. She loved the open sea as long as she was on the balcony of a big boat.
Mom had a passion for people. She served everyone around her selflessly. Mom could remember people and their names like no one else. When she saw someone, she knew exactly who they were and how she knew them. She never forgot a family member's birthday. She always had a card and the most thoughtful gift tailored to that person. Every school year mom loved to take the grandkids back-to-school shopping. When Lynn's grandkids joined the family, she extended the fun to them.
Mom had a passion for organization. She planned and held classes to teach people how to prepare a binder that includes "Everything you need to know if I should die or lose my mind". Many have benefited from this act of love and service.
In addition to her parents, mom was preceded in death by her husband Mark, brother, Richard (Dick), father-in-law Ivan Reed Payne, and many others.
Mom is survived by her husband Lynn, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Jim (Cheryl) Ashworth, the Payne sister and brothers and their spouses, many nieces and nephews, all who loved mom very much. We all looked up to her in many ways.
