IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance Stubbs
Lemon
October 26, 1948 – November 13, 2021
On the evening of November 13th, 2021 Constance Elizabeth Stubbs Lemon finished the race and returned to her Father in Heaven.
Connie was born on October 26th, 1948 in Walla Walla, Washington. She was the second of three children to Kathryn Sue Alsworth Stubbs and George Herbert Jefferies Fasick. When the children were young, Kathryn and George divorced. Afterward, when Kathryn was searching, she greeted two young missionaries at the door one day. A short time later, she and the children were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They became faithful members. Kathryn later met and married the love of her life Julius Jackson (Jack) Stubbs in 1955. Kathryn, Connie, and her brothers all adored Jack, and they each took his name.
Connie and Barton William Blair III married in 1969, raised seven children, and divorced in 1993. Connie met the love of her life Rodney Roy Lemon and they were married in 1994, bridging two families together.
In life Mom knew about pain; dipping into the valley of the shadow of death seven times to bring forth her greatest treasures, her children. Each time she bravely stepped into that vale, passing through blood and travail and agony; afterward she stayed the course and taught and cried and laughed, growing through every hurt. Connie counseled her children and grandchildren how to work, how to love, how to apologize, and how to appreciate the beauty of green growing things. Mom possessed the eye of an artist and reflected that beauty out into the world around her. She felt the light of Christ in her life and lived to share that love, multiplying it. She represented everything appealing, honorable, and good to each of us.
Mom lived as if she were writing an epistle of Christ, showing unconditional love through hardship, often bringing meals, treats, or gifts; Connie was ever ready with a hug or a listening ear, and even though she was of diminutive stature, she was a devoted shoulder to cry on.
We echo those words: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Rodney Roy Lemon, her parents Julius Jackson Stubbs & Kathryn Sue Alsworth Stubbs, her brothers Jeffers Jackson Stubbs and David Robert Stubbs, her father-in-law Roy Glen Lemon, her mother-in-law Helen Jane Harding Lemon, and many other vivacious loving people in the grand processional of life.
