Corinne Bernice Corbitt Macbean, age 78, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving husband on October 6, 2026, in Orem, Utah, after a long battle with cancer. Corinne was born in Prescott, Arizona, on February 21, 1948. She was the first child of Donald Oliver and Tenna Joan Corbitt. Corinne was raised mostly in Phoenix, Arizona, with her younger sister and two younger brothers. Although she lived in Utah for most of her life, she was an Arizona girl at heart. She loved the water, and swimming was one of her favorite things to do. She was passionate about education, and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1965. At seventeen, she moved to Provo, Utah, where she attended Brigham Young University, majoring in history with a minor in Spanish.
She married Stanley Frank Macbean on June 3, 1971, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were blessed to spend 55 wonderful years together. They lived in Provo for a few years, then bought their first home in Orem in 1974. They had six children: a daughter and five sons. Corinne was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and extended family dearly and was always excited to spend time with them, especially her younger sister, Elisa. Corinne had several friends with whom she loved getting together. She occasionally got together with a few college roommates and loved her water-aerobics friends, the “White Caps.”
Corinne served diligently throughout her years in many different callings as a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had learned to play the piano as a young girl and had a natural talent for it. She enjoyed playing in her callings for the Church and on several other occasions. She was especially devoted to the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs, serving in different capacities from 1982 to 2017. In September 2000, she was presented with the Silver Beaver Award, which is the highest honor a local council can present to a volunteer in scouting. In 2017, she and her husband were called to serve a two-year mission in the Pathway program. Because of her love for others and for education, Corinne truly enjoyed serving in this mission.
Corinne was preceded in death by her precious infant son, Robert; her parents; her brother, Don; and her daughter-in-law, Noreen. She is survived by her husband, Stan Macbean; children: Janice (Chad) Chorniak, Allen (Emily) Macbean, Don (Kristie) Macbean, Brian (Aubry) Macbean, and Jeff Macbean; grandchildren: Jessica (Colby) Campbell, Taylor (Monica) Chorniak, Ashlin Chorniak, McKenna Chorniak, and MacKenzie, Luke, Ethan, Vivian, Callen, and Lochton Macbean; her seven great-grandchildren: Braxton, Silas, Cope, Zinnia, Viggo, Tenna, and Jack; her sister, Elisa (Glenn) Williamson; her brother, Rob (Gina) Corbitt; and her sister-in-law, Karen Corbitt.
Our family wishes to thank all those who have served, cared for, and shown love to Corinne throughout her life and especially in her final months.
