IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Corinne Nichole Barton
Wallentine
October 11, 1989 – August 24, 2024
Corinne Nichole Barton Wallentine passed away at her home in American Fork on August 24, 2024 at the age of 34. She was born to loving parents Paul and Elizabeth Barton. She is the second of five children and grew up in Cedar Hills, Utah.
Corinne always loved dance. At the age of four, her parents took her to see a production of the Nutcracker ballet. Thinking she would only make it through a short portion of the ballet, her parents were stunned when she sat glued to the production for its entire run time. During most dinners, while her family was sitting, she would be up dancing with a slice of pizza, fork of vegetables, or countless other items. She would tell everyone "I am going to be a dancer when I grow up."
Corinne realized this dream. A gifted and beautiful dancer, Corinne participated in the same Nutcracker production she watched as a young girl almost every year from that time forward through high school. She was involved in countless other performances and recitals–even choreographing her own productions of her personal favorite ballets and Broadway shows. She even managed to convince her dad and younger brothers to join in her performances. She danced through high school and into college, eventually graduating from Utah Valley University with a bachelor's degree in dance. Upon her graduation, Corinne danced professionally for the Utah Regional Ballet.
Corinne loved to help others learn to dance. She taught at The Dance Conservatory, becoming the ballet director. She was also an adjunct faculty member in the dance department at Utah Valley University. She inspired and lifted hundreds of dancers of all ages for nearly two decades. She loved all her dancers and delighted in sharing her passion with them.
Corinne and former spouse Bryce Wallentine had one child whom they both adored. Corinne was a loving, caring, and kind mother to her daughter Dixie. Together, they loved creating beautiful drawings and art. Corinne taught by example the importance of kind words and giving gifts. Family and friends were often delighted by incredible hand-crafted birthday cards and other wonderful gifts of art from Corinne and Dixie.
Corinne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully for many years in the Relief Society. She loved the women she served. Through many trials and struggles, she demonstrated her faith in Jesus Christ.
In the summer of 2023, Corinne met Cameron Linde. Corinne loved the simple things in life and she and Cameron quickly hit it off in that regard. They loved to take long walks, dance in the rain, and just be together. Corinne said she could talk to Cameron about anything and everything. She quickly fell in love. Soon they decided to be married and Corinne aptly summed up their relationship as a "love story for the ages."
Corinne's passing leaves a profound void among all her friends, family, and loved ones who look forward with faith to seeing her again one day. She is survived by her daughter Dixie (Bryce Wallentine); fiancé Cameron; parents Paul and Elizabeth; and four siblings: Nathan (Lisa), Jessica (Dane) Peterson, Joshua (Brittney), and Caleb.
