IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cory Lincoln
Christiansen
March 4, 1971 – March 20, 2022
Cory Lincoln Christiansen spent his life in the service of those he loved, dedicating his life to his family and friends. He lived his life to the fullest and never went half way. He was all in.
Cory passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on March 20, 2022 with his sons Dayne and
Wade by his side. Cory was born March 4, 1971 and was raised by Dave and Vicki Christiansen in Salt Lake City, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona.
In his youth, Cory played soccer, football, ran track, and was said to be "The fastest white boy in the nation," taking 4th at a National Junior Olympics competition in New York. Even at an early age, his family was the most important to him. He watched his younger siblings, tutored them, and was best friends with his older brother, Travis. He graduated from Cortez High School in 1989. Following graduation, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Spokane, Washington.
When he returned home from his mission, Cory attended Northern Arizona University where he met his hot stuff, Audrey McBride, on April 18, 1993. They were inseparable from that moment on. Six months later, on October 15, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona temple. After welcoming their first child, Peyton, Cory graduated Summa Cum Laude from NAU and spoke at commencement with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He then received a Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University where he gained a love for Stanford athletics that he shared with his children. While at Stanford, their second child, Ryne, was born. After a brief stint in Phoenix where they welcomed their third child, Dayne, Cory and Audrey put down roots in Pleasant Grove, Utah where they had their last two children, Shea and Wade.
Cory worked hard to provide for his family. After moving to Utah and working at Corollo
Engineers for a few years, he brought Water Works Engineers, a wastewater/drinking water
company, to Pleasant Grove, Utah. According to Cory, he "worked with crap" for his career.
Despite that, he successfully grew the company, winning jobs all over the state. His success in his career gave him the freedom to live life to the fullest. Cory's pride and joy were his children and grandsons. He attended all of his children's sporting events and supported them in everything they did. His passion for sports was extreme, which occasionally got him kicked out of games while defending his children. He was the smartest one in the room and made everyone laugh with his funny jokes and witty personality. Although he appeared rough and tough, he was a big teddy bear with a tender, caring heart who would be the first to hold any new baby.
When his siblings or children needed help with homework, he was happy to help, but wouldn't
accept it when they said, "I don't get it." He never did it for you. He taught you to think through
the problem so you could do it yourself. Cory held many different callings in the Church, but his favorite involved teaching the youth. He was a dedicated coach where he gave countless hours to his teams and had a lasting impact on his players. Cory enjoyed the simple things in life, hitting the slopes, a hike with his dogs, a day on the boat, and nights playing board games with his family. He was stubborn, competitive, and if he didn't win then someone must have cheated.
Cory is survived by his wife, Audrey, children Peyton (Tyler), Ryne (Landri), Dayne, Shea, and
Wade, two grandchildren Weston and Grayson, parents Dave and Vicki, siblings Travis, Nathan (Lisa), Angie (Craig), and Keri (James) and numerous other family members.
Cory's legacy will be honored with a funeral on Monday, March 28th at 11:00 am with a viewing Sunday the 27th 6:00-8:00 pm and Monday morning 9:30-10:30 am. All proceedings will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3950 W Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah.
The concluding service and interment will be held at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
