Obituary

Our wife and mother, Cosette King, age 60, passed away on August 31, 2023 in Provo, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. Her passing was unexpected and sudden. Cosette is survived by her husband, Brad and their three daughters, Alexis, Amy Lew (Alex) and Cassidy and grandchild, River Lew.

Cosette was born on July 1, 1963 to Bob and Marilyn Coleman in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She spent her childhood in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Summit, New Jersey. After high school, she attended Brigham University where she met her husband of 39 years, Brad.

Cosette and Brad married at the Salt Lake City Temple in June of 1985. Their marriage was built on a foundation of love and affection. While suffering from this sudden loss, Brad feels extremely blessed that Cosette had come into his life and that they worked together to build a loving family and home.

During their marriage, Cosette and Brad lived most of their life raising their family in South Orange County, California.

Cosette loved being a mom to her three girls. They were her best friends and a central focus in her life. Each of her daughters had a unique, special relationship with their mother. She fostered a deep connection with every daughter. Her daughters feel very blessed that Cosette was their mom.

Cosette lived a full and vibrant life. She was known for her friendly and happy personality. Her unassuming and good-natured disposition attracted many friends.

Cosette's love of children was shown through her ability to be a talented and natural teacher. She taught her students and every person in her life not only through her words, but through her actions. Cosette had a gift for teaching children and was a favorite teacher for each class she taught. Her students remembered her long after graduating from her elementary school classes and expressed how much they enjoyed her teaching throughout the years.

Cosette was an excellent artist, and watercolor painting was a passion she enjoyed. She also enjoyed teaching art. Cosette's exceptional artistic ability is evident from her beautiful watercolor paintings, some of which were displayed at local art shows. Cosette used the power of art to heal and uplift herself and others around her.

Above all, Cosette succeeded in living a Christlike and gospel-centered life. The many friends she made in her life and her strong relationships with her family and friends are a testament to the kind and selfless life she led.

Cosette loved and served her Savior, Jesus Christ, and had a deep and abiding testimony of His gospel. She lived the gospel in pure and profoundly simple ways throughout her life.
