Walter Dale Mackay (1932-2021)
I, Walter Dale Mackay passed away on April 11, 2021 surrounded by family.
I was born on February 1, 1932, in the Cottonwood Maternity home in Murray, Utah, the son of William Lloyd Mackay and Eva Clegg. I was the third of six children.
I attended Plymouth Elementary School and Junior High School, in Taylorsville, Utah, and Granite High School in Salt Lake City.
I attended the University of Utah for two years, then drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict. Next, I spent 30 months in the West German Mission.
After my mission I attended BYU and graduated with a BA degree in Accounting and a Minor in Business Management. While at BYU, I met the love of my life and then married her, Nelda Graham, on November 25th, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Our marriage has lasted for over 62 years. We became the parents of 5 wonderful sons: Alva Dale (Provo), Lee Graham (Deceased), Brett Graham (Deceased), Richard Jay (Simla, Colorado), and Eric Frank (Provo).
I was employed at the Social Security Administration until I retired. I held many Church positions, including a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Provo, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I was a lifelong active member of the Church.
I am survived by my lovely wife, Nelda, sons, Alva, Richard and Eric, daughters-in-law, Jennie Mackay, Karalee Mackay, and Jeannette Mackay, 7 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
A graveside services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah. A face mask is required.
