Dale Ray McQuillan 9/16/1944 - 2/16/2022. It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dale Ray McQuillan. He fought a long and valiant battle with covid. Dale was born September 16, 1944 to Albert and Agnes McQuillan in Murray, Utah. He attend schools in Murray and graduated from Murray High School. Dale was drafted into the Army and served his tour of duty in Korea. Upon his release from the service he married Linda Christenson (divorced) and together they raised three boys, Todd, Cody, and Casey. Dale and his boys loved being together. They enjoyed so many great times together whether riding horses or mules, rodeos, 4-H, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, playing sports, and the chickens. Dale worked at Kennecott Copper for many years until his retirement, where he made many good friends. After Dale retired, he moved to Cannonville, Utah where he built a home. He continued to raise mules and began to raise and breed hounds for hunting bear and cougar. He would travel the United States sharing his passion for hounds making many friends along the way. Dale was a teacher, mentor, and friend to many people, always willing to share knowledge or tell a good story. While building a life in Cannonville he has made many long and lasting friendships. Thank you to the loving and caring friends for always being there for Dale through everything. Special thanks to McLane and Merrilee Mecham, and Guy and Sammy Renzello for all their love and support. Dale was the biggest fan of the boys and girls basketball teams at Brice Valley High School in Tropic, Utah. He loved to watch and cheer them on. Dale is survived by his sons Cody and Casey, grandchildren Clayton, Carly, and Conner, sisters Diann Long (Brent) and Sandra Clayburn, sister in-law Verda McQuillan and many nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his son Todd, father Albert, mother Agnes, brother David, and brother in-law Lynn Clayburn. Dale's final wish was to ride his mule Floyd one more time.
