Obituary

Dan Edgar Moss  1934-2018  Dan Edgar Moss passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at age 84 from complications due to old age.  Dan was born July 10, 1934, to Edgar Janney Moss and Florence Titcomb in American Fork, Utah.  He was the fifth child in his family, with two brothers, Reed Parker (Anna), Gene Parker (Virginia), and four sisters, Edith Wright (Lloyd), Nancy Reese (Eldon), Ruth Palmer (Daniel) and Marcia Carroll (Ron).  On September 4, 1957, he married LuJean Robinson in the Salt Lake Temple.  They had six children:  Brad Moss (Dana), Clark Moss (Sharon), Ed Moss (Julie), Michelle Gardner (Jim), Blaine Moss (Amalie), and Christine Pack (Benjamin), 30 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren.  Following LuJean's passing in 2011, he married Judy Jensen Potter on June 9, 2012 in Washington, Utah and was welcomed by her children Jae Potter (Lisa), Mackae Potter (Cheryl), Judith Anne Potter, Tom Potter (Kristan), 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dan grew up in American Fork, Utah.  After graduation from American Fork High School in 1952, he attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry.  He attended the College of Dentistry at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska followed by training as an Orthodontist.  He has lived in Nebraska (Lincoln, North Platte) and Utah (American Fork, Cedar City, Stansbury Park, Orem, Provo and Washington).   Dan enjoyed being an Orthodontist and had a special connection with youth and young adults.  He loved being a father and grandfather.  He was passionate about flying as a private pilot, watercolor painting and being in the outdoors.  He enjoyed attending BYU sporting events, fishing, hunting, traveling, cooking and trying out new things and adventures.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings, including Branch President, District President, YSA Bishop and in a MTC Branch Presidency.  He loved to volunteer.  He served in the Utah National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Lindon Cannery, 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Utah County Art Board, Family History Indexing Center, BYU Museum of Art and the St. George Temple.  He and Judy served in Eugene, Oregon as Church Service missionaries teaching Institute at the University of Oregon. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 15 th  from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Relief Society room of the Northbridge Ward at 1080 West Arlington Street, Washington, Utah 84780.  Honoring his wishes, a private, family viewing will be held on Friday, November 16 th .  Graveside Services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 17 th , at the American Fork Cemetery.  Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 17 th  at 11:00 am in the LDS Chapel located at 665 South 200 West, Orem, Utah 84058 followed by a Meet & Greet for all in attendance.
