Darin Wayne Richins, 54, passed away June 21, 2019 in Orem, Utah due to health complications. He was born January 21, 1965 in Provo, Utah to Arthur and Thelma Richins and was the youngest of 5 children (Maureen, Brenda, Lisa, Randy).
Darin graduated from Orem High School and attended Brigham Young University where he was a member of the marching band and the Synthesis music group playing the trumpet and received his Bachelors degree in Communications. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Puerto Rico.
Darin had a deep passion for music. He always loved to express himself through playing the trumpet, leading choirs, and singing in the car. Early in his musical career, he played in a band on weekends and enjoyed providing entertainment for the public. His favorite bands included Chicago and Earth, Wind, and Fire . He also built a successful marketing career where he was beloved by those that worked around him.
Darin is survived by his children, Kyle (Erika), Colton (Camille), McKay (Ashley), and Joshua (Carlie). He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren and his mother and siblings. He was known for his deep and profound love for his kids and grandkids. Everything from coaching little league baseball games to attending high school music concerts, he offered his support in every way possible.
Funeral Services will be Friday, June 28, 2019, 11:00am at the Canyon View 4 th Ward building, 762 East 1200 North, Orem, UT A brief viewing will be held Friday morning from 9-10:30am at the church prior to the service. The burial will take place at the Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.
