Obituary

Deanne Woolf Sanchez passed away on May 22, 2026 at her home in Manti, Utah. She is remembered by her family and friends as loving, kind, and fun loving with an infectious laugh. She was born into the world on November 28, 1964 to Ella Rae Adamson and Richard Mark Woolf in Anaheim, California. She had a slow childhood in Mount Pleasant, Utah with her brothers Layne (Annette) and Mark (Paula). Growing up she delivered milk in the early mornings with her siblings, watched the drive-in movies from her balcony and even had her own horse. She performed in many musicals and music reviews written by her mother, and learned to play the piano. As a young adult she worked across the country as a nanny in Connecticut, and then received a mission call back to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hartford, Connecticut. She eventually moved to Utah County where she attended a few semesters at Utah Valley Technical College before meeting Michael Henry Sanchez at a church dance. They wed on July 7, 1989 in the Jordan River temple. Together they had 3 children; Julia Rae (DuBois), Janelle Deanne (Toone), and Michael Andrew. They were married for nearly 19 years. They lived in many different places as a family; including Utah, Florida and California. Deanne took great care of her husband Michael when he became ill and needed much assistance starting in 1998. She remained the primary caregiver in the home for 15+ years and sacrificed much for her family; including begrudgingly allowing her children to buy a feisty black cat named Max that stayed with her long after her children lived at home. After losing her husband in 2008 and her mother in 2012, she eventually landed back in Sanpete County in her home in Manti. She worked tirelessly to make her home a place she loved to be, and her family gathered there for many fun and important events. She was incredibly proud of her children, and loved her grandchildren dearly; keeping pictures of them all around her home and writing them letters in the mail. They will remember her silly sing-song phrases, celebrating her birthday on Thanksgiving some years, heading to the pumpkin patch together every fall, giggling at impossible moves while playing Twister, her absolute deafening scream whenever she would roll a Yahtzee, and for her gumption and tenacity. She taught us all how to love fiercely and to live your beliefs the best that you can. How thankful we are to have had Deanne in our lives!

Deanne is survived by her 3 children (Julia, Janelle and Andrew), 2 sons in law (Michael and Alex), 2 grandsons (Logan and Kai) and brother (Layne).

A funeral service for Deanne will be held Friday June 5, 2026 at 11:00am. There will be no viewing. Services will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem, Utah (646 E. 800 N. Orem, UT. 84097).
