Della Marie Mertz Bown, 95, was born on June 24, 1928 and passed away on February 9, 2024. She was born in Cardston Alberta Canada to William and Rosina Mertz, where she was the oldest of 8 children. She graduated from Stirling School and move to Provo Utah where she attended BYU.

At BYU, Della met and then married Keith Arthur Bown on September 10, 1950 and later was sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She loved BYU sports and later earned her master's degree at BYU. She worked in the College of Physical Education Advisement Center for many years. She enjoyed traveling the world with the BYU Ballroom dance team as a Chaperone and she retired in 1994.

She was prominent in the community and served as the President of Professional Secretaries and the President of Elder Quest at UVCC for many years. She had a love for dolls and was part of the McCurdy Doll Club.

Della is survived by her four children Linda (Clayton) Wright, Susan Wright, Bruce (Lisa) Bown and Jill (Chris) Offe. She was the grandmother to ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024, from 10am to 11am at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 East 800 North Orem, UT 84097. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
