IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Della Lanondus
Harward
January 26, 1939 – May 19, 2021
Della LaNondus Harward (Nondie)
On May 19th, 2021, Della LaNondus Harward (Nondie), our beautiful mother, was finally reunited with her sweetheart and eternal companion. What a sweet and joyous reunion we know this was.
Nondie was born on January 26, 1939, in Ioka, Utah to George Franklin Carrell and Floral VaDella Howells Carrell. She was the fourth of five children. Nondie grew up in Orem, Utah and was of the first graduating class of Orem High School, where she was a Tigerette.
Nondie met Ted Harward when they were both students at Lincoln High School. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 5th, 1957. They spent the first four years of their marriage in Amarillo, Texas where Ted served in the United States Air Force. Their remaining years were spent in Holladay, Utah and finally Orem, Utah, where they lived for 40 years.
Together Ted and Nondie had 7 children: Kyle (deceased), Bryan, Lisa, Jillanna
(Scott) Mansfield, Jeffrey (deceased), Kevin (Kiersten), and Melissa (Blair) Marshall. They currently have 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ted and Nondie were married for 50 years before Ted passed away from brain cancer. Nondie was his loving support and caregiver during his courageous battle.
Nondie's greatest joy came from her children, grandchildren, and her love of baseball. She began playing the piano when she was young and has played the organ in church since she was 12 years old.
Nondie will always be known by her family, friends, and caregivers as the sweetest and most genuine giver of compliments and encouragement. Even in her advanced stage of Alzheimers, her true character continued to shine through as she sought out others who needed her smile and love.
We express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Spring Gardens in Mapleton, especially the memory care workers, for the years of caring for and loving our mother.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 26th, 2021, at 10 am at the Orem City
Cemetery with a family viewing preceding at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home
Orem, Utah. Condolence and memories may be shared with the family online at www.walkersanderson.com
