Obituary

Dennis Floyd Cluff, 47, of Provo, Utah, lost his battle with addiction and died of an accidental overdose on August 15, 2018. He was born November 2, 1970 in Salt Lake City, his parents are Douglas and Nancy Oliver Cluff. As a child, Dennis was in perpetual motion. He rode moto-cross, zoomed around on motorcycles, and skied like a maniac. He loved Scouting and won several Pinewood Derby competitions. He graduated from Timpview High School in Provo, Utah and attended classes at what would become UVU and Snow College. At different times in his life, he worked as a mechanic, installed siding, was a hotel maintenance man, and even worked at a factory that made fish food. He later earned advanced certification in HVAC and was chief engineer for Canyon Park Technology. Other employers included Sears, Vivint and Temkin. Shortly after high school, Dennis married Amber Lindsey. They were blessed with a daughter, Natasha, but later divorced. Dennis' second wife, Christina Perry, is the mother of his second child, Marlene. They too divorced. Dennis married Amanda Hortin in 2003.  They were later sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple and are the parents of Lucinda, Cecilia, and Arlo. The Horton's were very supportive, and Dennis told many people that his Father-in-law, Steve, was his best friend. Dennis had a heart of gold and would have given the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He had a tough exterior that housed a sensitive soul. Everyone who met him loved him. Dennis had a brilliant mind and was a jack of all trades. He could fix almost anything. He was a master of trivia and seemed to know something about everything. He had a strong connection with nature and loved fishing and camping in the canyon. He enjoyed being a scout leader and said that, if nothing else, at least he taught the boys that they should wear a belt! Dennis deeply loved music, it was a window into his soul. He was also a devoted BYU fan. His greatest blessings were his children and grandsons, for whom he had tremendous love. He is survived by the following; his children; Natasha (Chance) Behunin, Marlene Cluff, Lucinda Cluff, Cecilia Cluff, Arlo Cluff; his grandsons Rylen and Holden Behunin; his siblings Karen (Dan) McWiggins, Kaylyn (Aaron) Tate, Chad (Sara) Cluff, Emilee Cluff, and Lindsey Cluff. His surviving Aunts, Charlene (Bob) Williams and Barbara Oliver, love him very much. Most of his life he had a surprisingly good relationship with his ex-wives and in laws. We are sure he was lovingly welcomed to the next stage of life by his parents, Douglas and Nancy Cluff, his grandparents Elwood Cluff, Roy & Madge Kelson, and Floyd & Dollie Oliver-- who preceded him in death. Dennis caused us all sorts of trouble. We don't know what we'll do without him. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service, Friday, August 24, 2018, 11 a.m. There will be a visitation period from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 1035 South 800 East, Orem, Utah. Following the memorial service, interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo, Utah. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com .
