Obituary

Dianne Margaret Fischer Minton, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, graduated from mortality on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, in Orem, Utah surrounded by her loving family. Dianne was known as a woman of strength, faith, and compassion.

Dianne raised four children, Marcus, Matthew, Melissa and Monica. She worked many years as a registered nurse, having worked in the operating room, the ICU, as a home health nurse, a patient case manager, and concluded her professional career as a traveling nurse. Dianne's tender heart and compassion were well utilized in healthcare as she graciously served her patients. Of all her jobs, nothing brought Dianne more joy than being a grandma.

Dianne was born June 25, 1960 in Provo, Utah. She was blessed with loving parents and was the oldest of five children. Family gatherings would often be filled with love and laughter as her siblings would tease about her responsibilities of being the oldest. Dianne was a devoted sister, who was loved, and taught her siblings much about life.

Anytime someone talked about Dianne, the conversation always highlighted her love for her family, her passion for music, and her tenderness towards others. She was highly thought of by those she met and ones who knew her well. Dianne had a beautiful singing voice and was often favored to perform in church. She loved sharing her talents and testifying her faith in Jesus Christ and a loving Father in Heaven through music. She also shared by serving as either the ward chorister or primary chorister for most of her adult life. Dianne treasured her children, her dog, her seven grandchildren and her parents and siblings. Her family brought her the most happiness. She was very artistic, loved sewing and doing crafts then giving them as gifts. She thrived when doing service for others.

She attended elementary school in Buffalo, New York and Evansville, Indiana. She attended Junior High in Louisville, Kentucky, where she played the clarinet for a short time and then switched to the baritone horn (tuba) in the school band. Dianne graduated from Louisville Male High School in Louisville, Kentucky and then attended Brigham Young University for one year, followed by a year at Junior College in Louisville, Kentucky and then two years at Guilford Technical Community College where she earned a degree in nursing.

Dianne was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2004. After treatment in 2005, she returned to her nursing career and raising her children. In May 2015, the cancer returned and she fought hard for eight years.

Dianne Minton will be deeply missed by family and friends. Dianne was preceded in death by her son Matthew in June 2020. Among those who will mourn her passing are her parents, Clyde and Peggy Fischer of High Point, North Carolina; her children, Marcus Minton (Hailey) of Provo, Utah; Melissa Scheller (Seth) of Hopkins, South Carolina; Monica Cannon (Hadyn) of Murray, Utah; her siblings Lisa Cottingham (Jim) of South Hill, Virginia; Scott Fischer (Stacey) of High Point, North Carolina; Coleen Peterson (Steve) of Provo, Utah and Jeff Fischer (Janette) of Provo, Utah. Also, seven dear grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
