IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris Elaine Freestone
Nielsen
October 28, 1938 – April 21, 2022
Doris Elaine Freestone Nielsen
October 28th, 1938 - April 21st, 2022
Doris Elaine Freestone Nielsen passed away early Thursday morning surrounded by loved ones. She was born October 28, 1938 to Emery Lind & Ida Vilate Crouse Freestone in Vernal, Utah. She has 4 brothers and 2 sisters whom have all passed on from this mortal existence. So the family reunion probably has been nothing short of amazing.
Doris was one of the most selfless servants of the Lord and was definitely an angel walking among us. Everything she did was to serve others and took nothing for herself. Coming from very humble beginnings, she knew the definition of hard work. From a young age growing up on a farm, being a cashier to a seamstress, managing and running gas stations & finally finding a love for gardening and finished out her career at Kmart managing the Garden Center.
She had such a great love for the gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! She held many different callings and loved each one. As she aged and slowed down in life, she found a new love, Indexing. Every waking minute she had free time, you would find her on her computer indexing. She faithfully did that for over 6 years and was hooked. She loved every minute of it!
Her family meant the world to her. She lived for every single one of them down to the great grandchildren. She was the first that would want to take you somewhere or babysit. She loved adventure as much as the next person but she had to do it surrounded by family. We will all miss her and her feisty personality so much!
She is preceded in death by her parents Emery Lind & Ida Vilate Crouse Freestone, her brothers Melvin, Harold, Ernest & Dallas. Her sisters Dorothy & Lois. Also preceding in death of her son-in-law, Kelly Leftwich.
She is survived by daughter, Shelley (Late Kelly) Leftwich, son, Darren (Stefani) Nielsen, Grandchildren: Michael (Brittney) Dillenbeck, Brandon (Hannah) Schelin, Christian (Skylee) Nielsen, Devyn Nielsen, Ashley Nielsen & Great Grandchildren: Sequoia, Ryder, Kaysen, Axeton & Nikayla Dillenbeck. Among many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews & nieces.
