Obituary

Doris Elizabeth Crosby Tregaskis, 91, died on November 6, 2017, in Provo, Utah from complications of a stroke. She was born May 7, 1926, at home in Tyler County, Texas, to Noah Lee and Sina Agnes Thompson Crosby. She married Lyle Richard Tregaskis on September 16, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple, and they had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1948 with a B.S. in Clothing and Textiles. She read her scriptures daily and served in every church leadership capacity. she never stopped serving and was still quilting for humanitarian needs. Her talents were wide and varied. Some of them included: sewing, wood carving, painting, sculpting, gardening, swimming, home design, hiking and soap making. She finished the 50/20 hike (50 miles in 20 hours) around Utah Lake when she was about 66 years old. Doris was known for being creative in every aspect and never stopped working until it was done right. She leaves behind her husband Lyle and her children: Susan (Layne) Whittaker, Jan (Craig) Schumann, Bruce (Nancy) Tregaskis and Dana (Brian) Woodbury, her Sisters Callie (Kenneth) Bliss and sister-in-law Dixie Crosby. She was preceded in death by sisters Alice Odom and Juanita Bobo, and brother Gary Wayne Crosby. Funeral services will be held at the Hillcrest 4th Ward Chapel 400 East 800 South, Orem, Utah at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November, 9, 2017. Visitation will be 11:30-12:30 at the church. Interment will be at Orem City Cemetery.
