Dorothy and Chapman met in the band at the U of U while he was in the army and were married while he was on leave. Since none of their children went back to Nevada, they decided to move to Orem to be near the majority of their children and be closer to her relatives. They found a home, stored their belongings in the wood shop Chapman added and in 1990 left for their mission in Adalaide, Australia. They lived in the Orem home until Dorothy could no longer see well enough to care for herself. She was fiercely independent but with the loss of eyesight, she agreed to start living with her children. She settled into her son Mike's home in Spanish Fork. He and his wife Judy loved having her be a part of their family. Dorothy served diligently in Primary and Relief Society and was an example of service and dedication to her Savior. She loved Him and followed his teachings. She and Chapman were able to serve in the Timpanogos Temple for several years and she loved each day she could serve there. She also cared for her father for many years. She enjoyed tatting, sewing and helped finish many of Chapman's woodworking projects. She loved her family and friends.
