IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dwayne H
Case
January 24, 1934 – September 27, 2022
Dwayne H Case passed away at home in Herriman, Utah on Monday,
September 27, 2022 from natural causes. He was born January 24. 1934 in
Jensen, Utah and is the second child of Garrett Case & Hilda Hodgkinson Case.
Dwayne's life was filled with love for his family and friends. He took particular
joy in bringing smiles to others by sharing his wit and humor. He was known for
his attitude of service to others, and often sent personal notes of encouragement and love.
He grew up in Vernal, Utah. After graduating from high school, Dwayne was
drafted into the armed forces, and willingly served in the Army. His military
service took him to a base in England. There, he met the love of his life, Betty
Alice Billson, on a blind date in 1954. As their courtship progressed, he
introduced her to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They
attended services together, and after studying the gospel she chose to be
baptized. Upon completion of his military service Dwayne returned home to
Vernal and shortly thereafter sent for his sweetheart, Betty. They were married
August 19, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Because his voice was distinctive and pleasant to listen to, Dwayne spent many
years as a radio announcer at various radio stations in Utah, California, and
Colorado. A few years after moving to Orem he left radio and worked for Utah
County in the clerk's office. He also enjoyed recording magazine articles and
religious texts for the Church to be used on the Internet.
Dwayne was given many opportunities to show his love for the Lord. His service
in the Church included callings in multiple bishoprics and high councils.
He spent much of his time helping others to record their life stories. His goal
was to assist in preserving their personal accounts so that their descendants
might better understand their family history.
Dwayne is survived by his sons David and Lester, his brothers Garrett, Lewis,
and Jerry, 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
