Earl Leroy Demson
1948-2022
Earl Leroy Demson ,74, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022
Born May 18, 1948 to Louis Restall Demson and Darlene Minnie Hazel in Payson, UT, Earl was an only child. He joined the United States Navy on August 20, 1968 and became a Dental Technician (DT). He was stationed in Coronado, CA where he met his first wife, Shirley Jo Lukomski. They had two children together, Stephanie Anne and Heather. After 5 years in the Navy, he transitioned out of the military in August of 1973 as a Dental Technician Third Class (E4) and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
After his discharge from the Navy the family moved back to his home in Utah. After his divorce from Shirley, he married Carol Lund Jensen. He helped raise her 3 sons, Jeff, Mike and Scott. They were later divorced. He has shared the last 30 years with Nila Shannon.
Earl worked at Geneva Steel until it's closing, then worked as a painter for L3 Communications (government Communications and Satellite systems). He loved old cars and always talked about his "woody" that he had been wanting to put together for as long as his children can remember. Earl enjoyed going to old car shows, especially the "Hot August Nights" show in Reno, NV. Most recently he was working on restoring a '34 Dodge coupe.
Earl was a loving father/grandfather/husband/partner. He is survived by his long time partner, Nila; mother, Darlene; his two children, Stephanie (Russ) Demson Hopkins, and Heather (Nathan) Ash; and 5 grandchildren Skylar (Tommy), Shirley Anne, Emma, Ellie (Hunter) and Connor. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Louis.
